Fiescheralp - Aletschgletscher - Fiescheralp

Discover the fascinating phenomena of the perpetual ice and exciting aspects of the Great Aletsch Glacier and its history from local mountain guides. The trip starts in Fiesch or Fiescheralp. The Gletscherstube hut at lake Märjelen is the starting point for the walk and the walk back to Fiescheralp takes you through the illuminated Tälligrat Tunnel.

Duration: total approximate walking time 6 hours (2- to 3-hour excursion on the Aletsch Glacier).

Meeting place: 08:15 at the Bergsteigerzentrum ÖV-HUB, Fiesch

Guide: Bergsteigerzentrum Aletsch

Number of participants: min. 6 people | max. 10 people

Equipment requirements: trekking shoes (good grip), hat, sunglasses, packed lunch and drinks; shorts are unsuitable on the glacier (wind).

Services included:

  • guided tour with a qualified mountain guide from the Aletsch Mountaineering Centre

  • technical equipment (climbing harness, crampons) is provided.
