Riederalp - Aletschgletscher - Riederalp

Cable car ride to Moosfluh after that a hike from Moosfluh to the “Katzenlöcher”. This is where the glacier experience begins. During the 2-hour hike, well secured, you learn some fascinating facts about the 20 km-long Great Aletsch Glacier and its history. Return via Moosfluh to Riederalp (individual decision by cable car or on foot).

Dates: every Wednesday from mid-July until mid-October, additionaly every Tuesday from mid-July until mid-August

Duration: total approximate walking time 6 hours (approx. 2 hours on the Aletsch Glacier)

Meeting point: 09:20 at the Moosfluh valley station, Riederalp (Aletsch Express is awaited)

Number of participants: min. 8 people

Suitable for: minimum age 8 years

Requirements: sure-footedness, no mountaineering experience required, 1 pole recommended, trekking or hiking shoes (good grip), hat, jacket, sunglasses, packed lunch and drinks; shorts are unsuitable on the glacier (wind).
