Goat trekking

Description

Being out and about with goats is a new dimension of hiking. In the hiking area between Betten and Bettmeralp, the so-called "Voralpe", the lively goats are completely in their element and provide the best entertainment. They never cease to amaze us with their incredible climbing skills and their creative ideas when it comes to grabbing just this little leaf and not one of the many others. As ruminants, they are sometimes full and want to lie down, which gives us the opportunity to take a longer break and enjoy the peace and quiet and the fascinating view.

Dates: every Wednesday from 4 May until 26 October 2022 (other days on request)

Walking time: approx. 3-4 hours at a leisurely pace (altitude difference 100m)

Meeting point: 10am lower ground-floor entrance, Bettmeralp cable car mountain station (Alpmatten exit)

Guide: Renato Testa, goat breeder

Equipment: hiking boots, long trousers, something to eat and drink
