Aletsch-ridge snowshoe trekking

Description

Together with the snowshoe guide you take the cable car up to Moosfluh where your snowshoe hike beginns. Walking in the direction of Biel, you pass behind some prominent rocks and take one of the many trails on the broad mountain ridge past Hohfluh to Riederfurka. Before descending to Riederalp, take a quick detour to the Pro Natura Centre (Villa Cassel) and, if conditions permit, hike along the Casselweg trail to look out over the Gibidum Dam way down below. 

Dates: always on a Tuesday from 10 December 2024 to 15 April 2025

Meeting point: 13:00 h mountain station Riederalp Mitte

Equipment: robust, if possible waterproof hiking or mountain boots, functional winter clothes (gloves, cap, no jeans), sunglasses, sun cream, drink or snack and personal medication.
