The old "Hotel du Glacier et Poste" was built in 1840 and is the oldest hotel in Fiesch. The big house dominated the whole village in old times. TIs was enlarged in 1888 and got his look in the style of Belle Epoque. The historic house, like lots of others from the 19th century, came into age; even the closure was planned. But the sons of Fifine Volken-Speckly, the "grand old hotelière" who leaded the house almost 70 years until the age of 91, had other plans: They engaged Raymond Kronig from Zermatt so as to revitalize the house. Since then, it was renovated with a lot of sensitiveness. Since 2020, the hotel is a little jewel again and tells his histories and stories from bygone times. A little museum is situated in the restaurant and the whole house. It's dedicated to Fifine. She is the guide through 180 years of hotel history. The nostalgic rooms are kept in historic style.
